Item 2174 - 20" Brown eyed Covered Wagon china - German, 1850s - head exhibits the charactoristics now being associated with dolls made by Kestner - pink tint shoulderhead with open circle nostrils and space between lips - on original cloth body which has stitched toes and early composition stright wristed arms - body has had some minor repair - shoulderplate cracked and re-glued, flake (about 3/8") on back of the hair has been in-painted - wears old under garments, dress is a reproduction made of fabric reprinted from examples in the Smithsonian's textile collection - in perfect condition this doll books at $1400 - in her present state she is still a good buy at $530.00 | ||||||||||||||

Item 2207 - 18" china shoulderhead doll with china lower arms and legs - cloth body - a nice example of a doll that bridges the transition from lady dolls to child dolls, probably dates to early 1880s - there are some very minor paint rubs on the back of the hair and the inside of the fingertips on one hand are chipped - sewn on clothes were opened at the neckline to check the head which is free from cracks or chips - the stockings and wonderful leather boots are sewn on so i can not look at the lower legs although they feel intact - wears a red wool dress which has some scattered moth damage, hole in the back of one stocking - pretty doll in a nice size - $225.00 | ||||||||||||||
