example of a cloth doll by Martha Chase - 20 1/2" tall
- original, untouched paint is in incredible condition, expressively
painted eyes,two-toned pink lips. This doll does not look like
it was ever played with.There are fine surface craze lines on
the face, probably due to temperature changes over the past
100 years of the doll's life, but no lifting or paint loss.
Most exciting is the very hard to find cloth label sewn on the
doll's torso which tells us that Chase dolls are made by "Especially
Trained Workers"!! Wearing nice old silk shirt , woolen
trousers, cotton socks, and oilcloth shoes, ready to take his
place in your Chase doll collection. A great example with a
fabulous label. $825.00 |
